The Moroccan delegation was led by Mohamed Abou Salah, Secretary-General of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
It also included Azzeddine El Midaoui, President of the Conference of University Presidents, and Mokhtar Bakour, then Director of the National Agency for Evaluation and Quality Assurance in Higher Education and Scientific Research (ANEAQ).
Launch of a project devoted to a quality culture
A key event during the visit was the delegation’s participation in the launch of a project devoted to developing a quality culture in higher education.
Developed in partnership with Spanish universities and the Spanish evaluation and quality assurance agency, the project aimed to strengthen quality assurance mechanisms within higher education institutions.
Its main objectives included adopting good practices consistent with international standards, sharing experience in quality management and continuously improving institutional performance.
ANEAQ and eleven Moroccan universities involved in the project
According to information reported by Hespress, the project was intended to promote the sharing of skills and experience between European agencies and universities, ANEAQ, and eleven Moroccan universities participating in the initiative.
ANEAQ’s participation formed part of efforts to strengthen its expertise in evaluation, quality assurance and the development of institutional practices.
The Erasmus programme supporting the partnership
The project was part of the European Erasmus programme, financially supported by the European Union.
The initiative particularly aimed to improve the quality of higher education and strengthen cooperation between Moroccan universities and their European partners.
Towards broader university cooperation
Discussions in Madrid also focused on developing relations between Moroccan and Spanish universities, notably during a meeting with representatives of the Conference of Rectors of Spanish Universities.
