The Agency’s mission is to carry out, on behalf of the State, evaluations of the higher education and scientific research system in order to guarantee its quality. To this end, it is responsible for:
- The evaluation of public and private higher education institutions and scientific research institutions, taking into account the specialty of each institution, notably its pedagogical and scientific projects;
- The examination and evaluation of training programs with a view to obtaining or renewing accreditation;
- The evaluation of the activities of doctoral study centers and the review of the training and research work carried out in these centers;
- The evaluation of scientific research and the effectiveness of its structures;
- The evaluation of university cooperation programs and projects in the field of training and scientific research.
The Agency may also, within the limits of its powers, carry out evaluations at the request of:
- Ministerial departments whose interests include higher education, scientific research or executive training;
- The Higher Council for Education, Training and Scientific Research;
- The Hassan II Academy of Science and Technology;
- The National Center for Scientific and Technical Research;
- Universities or higher education and research institutions.
At the international level:
- The Agency may, within the limits of its powers, carry out, within the framework of the cooperation agreements concluded by the Kingdom of Morocco, evaluation work on foreign training and scientific research institutions.
- The Agency may, with the authorization of the administration, carry out, within the limits of its powers, evaluation work on foreign training and scientific research institutions at their request, within the framework of agreements that it concludes for this purpose.
