TelQuel Arabi — 10 July 2019
In an article published on 10 July 2019, TelQuel Arabi presents the new standards envisaged for assessing the quality of higher education and scientific research institutions in Morocco.
Developed as part of the work of the National Agency for Evaluation and Quality Assurance in Higher Education and Scientific Research (ANEAQ), these criteria aim to strengthen evaluation mechanisms and support the development of the higher education system.
Greater international openness
One of the main priorities presented is the integration of an international dimension into institutions’ programmes and activities.
In particular, the criteria envisage developing partnerships with foreign institutions to promote student and staff mobility and adapt training programmes to national and international developments.
Programmes adapted to labour-market needs
The article also stresses the importance of better aligning training programmes with labour-market needs.
Institutions are therefore encouraged to develop relations with their socio-economic environment and anticipate changes in professions so they can offer programmes that meet skills needs.
Quality of teaching and scientific research
The proposed standards also address improvements in teaching practices, continuing professional development for staff, the use of digital tools, and the development of scientific research.
They particularly highlight cooperation with the private sector, innovation, knowledge transfer, and the strengthening of resources needed to ensure programme quality.
